During the 2013 shortened, 46-game season Galiardi played 36 of those games. He posted 14 points with 5 goals and 9 assists. During the postseason he posted a 1 goal and 1 assist.
According to Galiardi, "Doug Wilson was great. Once we got to the process, he let me know which teams were interested and when I heard Calgary, it was a no-brainer for me and I said that was my team that I wanted and was pretty much only interested in.”
To some people around the Shark’s fanbase, it seemed like Galiardi was starting to settle into his role in San Jose. Towards the end of the regular season and through the playoffs of 2013, it seemed that Galiardi was beginning to feel more comfortable then he was when he was first traded to the Sharks. Galiardi made some key plays down the stretch, and although they didn’t always result in goals next to his name, his plays helped the team overall. I know that I constantly heard his name being mentioned for beneficial plays on the radio and TV broadcasts more often as the season progressed. He also began to play on the top line with Joe Thornton and Brent Burns .
